This is a handmade 14k gold chain made by me right here in my Colorado studio. I only use recycled 14k gold, so first I collect 14k gold that I am going to melt down. I melt this gold down and pour it into a solid gold bar. Next, I roll this gold out in a rolling mill and then draw it through a plate into a round wire. Finally, I am able to cut, form, and solder this wire into these unique links.
The necklace weighs 8.9 grams of 14k yellow gold. It measures 18 inches long. The widest links are approximately 6mm wide. This necklace features a toggle clasp. The nice thing about this clasp is that it can hook onto any of the ovals, so the chain could be worn at any length.
This is a true labor of love. I enjoyed making this necklace and I think it is stunning piece of jewelry. Very versatile and durable, a heirloom quality piece of jewelry.
